Electronic Evidence Discovery adds former IBM/FileNet executive as CEO to drive next phase of growth, market leadership

EED founder Jessen to continue as board chairman and long-term strategy advisor

Kirkland, Wash. - June 19, 2007 - Electronic Evidence Discovery Inc. (EED), one of the top three eDiscovery software and services providers, announced today that David McCann, formerly senior vice president of products for FileNet, an IBM company, has been appointed president and chief executive officer (CEO). EED founder and former CEO John Jessen assumes the title of chairman of the board.

As McCann assumes  the CEO role, Jessen will explore expansion strategies.  “Our business and leadership team has never been stronger, and EED is well-positioned for success in the years ahead,” Jessen said. “I feel very fortunate to have someone as experienced as David McCann to lead the company as it continues to grow and expand into new markets.”

“Electronic Discovery is a topic of rising importance to US and International corporations operating in increasingly regulated and litigious marketplaces, made more complex by the overwhelming increase in unstructured information enabled by modern office and internet technologies. I am very confident that EED’s superb reputation, experienced leadership team, and industry-leading employee base will drive EED toward continued success as we transition to our next phase of growth and expansion” McCann said. “We are highly focused on being the industry leader in client service and satisfaction while continuing to drive technology and process innovation. I plan to build on the success and positive industry impact that John and EED’s team have delivered for so many years.”

According to recent industry research, a consolidation of the eDiscovery and content management markets is imminent. EED views this as an opportunity.

“Today’s services market is highly fragmented, consisting of over 500 service providers offering a variety of point solutions,” said George Socha of Socha Consulting LLC. “Enterprise information management and eDiscovery management companies are just beginning to start down the path toward offering a cohesive approach.”

“The reality is that eDiscovery will eventually be part of the bigger information management market,” wrote Barry Murphy of Forrester in his December 2006 report Believe It: eDiscovery Technology Spending To Top $4.8 Billion by 2011. “Given the importance of eDiscovery domain expertise, it’s likely that consolidation will hit this market. It is estimated that the market size is approximately $1.8 billion and is expected to continue to grow.”
