EED Announces Major Investment in Technical Infrastructure

March 6, 2006, Seattle, WA — EED, Inc, full-service electronic discovery leader, has invested millions of dollars on upgrading data processing, storage and communication infrastructure beginning in late 2005 and continuing through the first quarter of 2006. Driven by continued explosive growth in the eDiscovery market segment, these investments position EED to exceed client expectations for data processing capacity and hosted native review services.

“EED’s operations group manages more than one petabyte of data — nearly 50 billion documents — with more than 200 terabytes actively hosted through our online EED Discovery Partner service,” according to Tim Ryan, Vice President of Operations. “Although we were not operating at capacity, we believed the time was right to invest in future growth.”

EED’s infrastructure upgrades have resulted in higher performance metrics for EED Discovery Partner® hosted services, increased storage capacity, and improved backup and recovery capabilities across a fully redundant multi-tiered fiber network backbone. EED’s corporate communication backbone now runs on a fully redundant and scalable set of Ethernet and MPLS (multi-packet-layer-switch) data links, enabling tremendous agility in the company’s ability to deliver hosted data services.

“The volume of data associated with a typical case and the speed at which review needs to occur to meet case deadlines is dramatically increasing.. Our clients don’t want to be bothered with the technical details. They just want performance results. This investment will allow EED to better respond to our market,” commented Regina Chepalis, EED’s Chief Operating Officer. “This investment gives EED the technical capability to handle the most challenging eDiscovery cases.”

Clients leveraging EED’s enterprise infrastructure for hosted review services are supported by a 7x24 call center and a dedicated hosting service team
