Steve Stein of EED™ to Speak at CLO Leadership Forum
eDiscovery Process a key challenge for Corporate Legal Officers and CIOKIRKLAND, Wash. – March 3, 2008 – Electronic Evidence Discovery, Inc., the leader in full service eDiscovery solutions, today announced that Steve Stein, Vice President of eDiscovery Consulting, will speak on Corporate Legal Discovery Process Design at the CLO Leadership Forum in New York City.
The Forum, to take place March 4, 2008 in Manhattan, will bring together the legal leadership of 130-150 public and private large cap and mid cap corporations, as well as executive leadership (CEOs, CFOs & COOs).
Because of the increasing complexity and compliance pressures related to the eDiscovery phase in litigation, many enterprise corporate legal officers (CLOs) are taking action to increase their understanding and control of the eDiscovery process.
“I want to help these executives look closely at the challenges that legal departments are facing today and identify their options for reducing risk and cost related to legal discovery,” said Steve Stein. “It’s important for the CLO and CIO to work together to implement proactive eDiscovery processes, and to take action sooner, rather than wait for the next litigation. In our eDiscovery consultation, we work with IT Management, inside counsel, and outside attorneys to create a proactive plan and a set of processes that will be implemented upon the occurrence of a triggering event. Corporations can and should count on experts to help them leverage existing data management infrastructures to be successful with eDiscovery.”
Steve Stein leads the eDiscovery Consulting practice at EED, having worked with corporations and law firms on eDiscovery issues since 2000. He spent years working with corporations to address pre-litigation concerns in the areas of records management, document retention and litigation readiness. As an eDiscovery consultant, Steve has worked with many clients to scope and implement work flow solutions for the identification, preservation, collection, search, culling, review and production of electronic data, and has managed effective strategies for tape restoration and computer forensics matters. In addition, he has worked with corporations to establish best practices for preservation holds, data collection, written discovery consistency, and meet and confer policy and practices.
