Jeff Beard Joins EED™ as Senior Consultant

KIRKLAND, Wash. – April 9, 2008 – Electronic Evidence Discovery, Inc., (EED) the leader in full service eDiscovery solutions, today announced that Jeff Beard has joined the company as senior consultant.  Beard has worked with corporations and law firms for over a decade to solve eDiscovery and litigation technology challenges. 

“As a former practicing attorney and accountant, Jeff brings a great deal of hands on experience to EED.  Jeff’s understanding of the complex issues faced by large firms and corporate law departments makes him uniquely suited to the position of senior consultant with our company,” said David McCann, president and chief executive officer at EED.  “Jeff has been involved in enterprise litigation readiness, electronic discovery, litigation support, records management, information security, and data privacy issues for the better part of his career.”

Beard is also a Six Sigma Green Belt with extensive experience with systems and processes that include email and document retention, electronic invoicing, matter and document management, and enterprise content management.  Beard understands the challenges corporate teams face in managing data, as well as in designing and implementing effective processes to improve defensibility and compliance.

Having published numerous articles and regular columns on legal technology and eDiscovery issues, Beard is also a frequent speaker at leading legal technology conferences, and has served on the ABA TECHSHOW Executive Board.  Beard also runs the popular LawTech Guru blog (www.lawtechguru.com) in his individual capacity. His established blog is dedicated to informing the legal and technical communities on key issues and developments in legal technology and e-discovery.

Prior to joining EED, Beard was the Legal Services IT Manager with Caterpillar, a Fortune 100 company, in the corporate counsel division where he worked closely with Legal, Enterprise IT, and other business units.  Before joining Caterpillar, Beard was an internal technology consultant for Quarles & Brady, LLP, a large national law firm based in Milwaukee, WI, which included working heavily with the litigation practice group and litigation support department.
